Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Jadelynn Brooke released these adorable Pom Pom hoodies a couple months ago and I have been loving them! I was super excited to see one in my last rep box for the fall 2017 semester! While I was traveling for the holidays I wore it so much and it is seriously so so comfy! I am obsessed with it! PLUS it comes in two different colors! I am wearing it in blue but it also comes in grey as well!

I wore my hoodie with a pair of jeans and my monogram duck boots! This is such a comfy outfit! I love it! If you want to twin with me you can use my code MMPSA for 15% off your Jadelynn Brooke purchases! If you use my code make sure you let me know and I will send you some FREE stickers!

My New Favorite Toy

This year for Christmas I received the HP Sprocket printer and I have had so much fun playing with it so far! I thought it would be fun to share with all of you today since so many of you have requested DIY room decor posts! This printer can print out so many cute photos that you can use to spruce up your room!

I have put a lot of my photos on my memo board from My Pink and Green Garden and on my cork board on my desk! I have also seen a bunch of people on Instagram put little photos like this in their planners! The options are endless!

Thank you so much for reading today! I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any post requests please let me know!

My Favorite Sweatshirt!

This Christmas I received one of the monogram lace up tunic from Marley Lilly and this is by far my new favorite article of clothing! I have a feeling I will be wearing it nonstop this winter!

I wore my sweatshirt with my KJP Pearl Knot Bracelet and my camp socks from J.Crew! I am not sure where my duck boots are from unfortunately because they were a gift but you can find monogram duck boots at Marley Lilly and on Etsy! This sweatshirt is so warm which makes it perfect for lazy days during the winter!

Thank you so much for reading this post! I hope you enjoyed it! As always if you have any post requests please let me know!

UPDATED: Bible Journaling Basics

Before I start this post I wanted to say that yes, I have some very similar posts to this one but I felt that it was time I updated them so here we are! Obviously there is no right or wrong way to Bible Journal which is why I feel like these posts are so hard to right. But you keep requesting them so I thought I would try to just show you all what I like to do and be a little more detailed in the post than I have been in my older posts! Hope these tips help you!

I love using PaperMate Flair pens in my bible because they are super bright and fun PLUS they typically don’t bleed through the thin pages. As long as you aren’t coloring in any big shapes and you are just writing or doing simple illustrations with them you will be golden! However, I do like to put a mat underneath my page just in case so I don’t ruin the pages behind the one I am working on.

I also recommend having a thin pen that won’t bleed through the pages. I use one all the time to outline words or to write in smaller words.

I haven’t used water colors too much in my Bible but I have seen a bunch of people’s entries that have used them and they always come out so cool!

I can not recommend starting with pencil enough! I am a perfectionists and especially in my Bible, I don’t want to mess up a page because I can’t really start over. I trace what ever I want to do in pencil first that way I prevent making tons of mistakes. By using pencil first it also allows you to change positioning, illustrations, etc. because you can actually see what it will look like! There have been so many times I draw something out but then just don’t like the format so it is so nice to have the option of just erasing everything and starting over!

One of the most asked questions I get is how I pick what verses I want to journal. Personally, I think this will change for everyone. For me when I see a verse that really sticks out to me I will always write it down that way the next time I get my Bible out I have a list of potential verses to journal that stood out to me. But if you are not sure what to journal but you really want to you can always go onto Pinterest and find some! Some Instagramers and Bloggers actually have created some “plans” that you could follow. These plans just list out days (typically for a whole month) and provide you with a new verse every day.

I also recommend dating all your entries! It is fun to look back on older entries and I always love being able to see the date that I created it!

Drawing a Banner:

I get questions ALL the time on how I draw banners in my entries so I thought I would share how I do it! I also shared a little diagram in one of my other Bible Journaling posts but I thought I would share it again!

First: Draw two lines to be the base of your banner. I always like to have mine free handed but you could also do a standard rectangular banner!

Next: Connect your lines as shown in this picture!

Last: Create your banner! (I am not really sure how to type this step into words so hopefully the picture helps!)

The fun part is to use different designs, patterns, and colors!

I really love Bible journaling and I hope this post was helpful to you because I get requests for it all the time! If I didn’t answer one of your questions please let me know! As always if you have any post requests please let me know!

More About Me!

Back in December I reached out to all of my Instagram followers to ask me questions for a blog post to get to know a little bit more about me and I had so many of you send me great questions! Thank you! I will answer as many as I can in this post but if you have any others let me know!

  1. What are your plans after high school? I am a current senior in high school and I am currently in the process of deciding where I am going to college next fall. I haven’t decided where I will be going in the fall but as soon as I do I will definitely let you guys know! I am planning on majoring in Elementary Education though and I am very excited for college!
  2. Any tips on starting a preppy/fashion Instagram and not being ashamed of it? When I started my Instagram no one who I know personally knew about it and I was terrified of them finding out. Over time I started to tell some of my close friends and family members about it and now there is a hand full of friends following along but that is it. I think that as I started to fall in love with blogging I started to get less “ashamed of it”. Honestly, if blogging is something you really want to do just start it! If your friends find out I guarantee you that they will be supportive of it and if they aren’t then they aren’t your real friends.
  3. Do a lot of people know about your blog? If, so what do they think about it? Like I mentioned earlier only a hand full of close family and friends know about it but at this point I am not hiding it as much as I used to. Everyone who knows about it is so supportive which is so nice! They love helping me out if I need it which I really appreciate! Having family and friends who supports what you want to do is so nice and it makes it so much more fun! But like I mentioned before some people might not be supper supportive. My biggest tip for this is to ignore it. I always look at my blog like this, some people love dance so they go to practices and have performances and no one really thinks anything of it. But when someone has a blog it can seem different, since it is! But my blog is my hobby just as someone who likes to dance has theirs. If anyone isn’t supportive just ignore it and know that you are doing something that makes you happy and you don’t need anyone’s approval for it.
  4. How do you keep coming up with original and creative content? This can be very hard at times because creators block is a real thing! What I like to do is plan ahead that way if one week I just do not know what I want to post on the blog I do not have to skip a post since one is already scheduled. I also love Pinterest! I use it all the time for outfit inspiration which definitely helps when I am trying to plan blog posts! I also keep a list in the notes section on my phone of ideas for when ever I am just not sure what to post!
  5. Why did you start blogging? I started my Instagram over a year ago (It honestly still feels like yesterday though!) because I really enjoyed taking photos of my outfits but did not want to post them on my personal social media because lets be honest, my friends don’t really care. I also was interested in trying out some brand rep opportunities and wanted those posts to be on a separate account so @MollyPreps was created! A couple months after creating the Instagram I started my blog because I just had so many post ideas that were more of blog content instead of Instagram content. I am so happy I decided to start it though because it has been so much fun and I have made such amazing friends from this experience!
  6. What do you wear to school on a regular day? This question was asked A LOT so I figured I should probably answer it! For me, it changes pretty much everyday since my schedule this year is not your traditional high school schedule. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I only have one class and then I come home for the rest of the day so I rarely get dressed up. I am typically in Jadelynn Brooke Bow Back Leggings and a cute T-Shirt but there are some days when I dress up. It all really depends on my mood. I can say that my outfits shared on my blog and Instagram are pretty accurate to what I wear in “real life”.
  7. Who is your style icon? I really love how Sarah (@sarahkjp) and Carly (@Carly) dress and their blogs are some of my favorites! Whenever I don’t know what to wear I just type in the season and then their name into my Pinterest and use them as inspiration! I also really love Abby’s (@Belleoftheball45) style! If you aren’t already following these three I definitely recommend it!

I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me in this post! I have never done a post like this before but it was very fun to write so if you would like to see more in the future let me know!

Thank you so much for reading today! As always if you have any post requests please let me know!

Chilly Day Outfit Inspiration

I have received so many requests to share outfits that are perfect for cold days. I was a little hesitant to do this post just because I do not live in a climate where it snows (I was on vacation when I took these photos) but I decided it would still be fun to put an outfit together for you! I have been loving this outfit for cold days because it does keep you super warm and it is super cute as well!

If you are interested in purchasing this shirt or beanie for yourself you can use the code MMPSA for 15% off your purchase! If you use my code let me know so I can send you some FREE Jadelynn Brooke stickers!

Starting Your Semester Strong

It is officially that time of year again! Second semester is starting for everyone and especially after a nice long break from school it can be so hard to get back into the swing of things! I have had a lot of readers contact me and ask me what my tips and tricks were for staying motivated during the second half of the school year so that is exactly what I am going to share today!

I reached out to all of you back in December asking you for questions for an upcoming Q&A post and I got a few questions about studying so I decided to put this post together to help you out and answer some of your questions! I hope you find these tips and tricks helpful but every student is different so do what ever works for you!

  • How do you stay motivated/inspired to study?
    • One way I stay motivated is to work a little each night but also give myself a break. I find that when I have something to look forward to when I am finished I get a lot more done than I normally would! Somethings that I like to do is let myself watch a couple YouTube videos or go through my social media. Another thing to keep yourself motivated is to plan something each week. For me I always look forward to watching Dancing with the Stars every Monday night, this is seriously so simple but I make sure to get all my work done before hand that way when 8 o’clock rolls around I can just relax while I watch the show. Obviously these are all really small things but they can help to keep yourself motivated.
  • Best study tips?
    • Some of my best study tips are to plan out your week on Sunday each week. This is something that doesn’t take much time out of your day but can be so helpful to prepare you for the week! I recommend going through all of you Syllabi and fill out assignments, papers, tests, anything that is going on in your week in your planner! This is so helpful for me because there are no surprises! It is much better to find out you have a test a couple days in advance rather than the night before!
    • Another piece of advice that I have for you is to work on your assignments a little each night. I always like to plan out my week so that my assignments are not just done on time but early just in case something where to happen. For example, if you have an essay due on Friday, write a paragraph each night leading up to the due date. Writing one paragraph doesn’t take very long to write either so you won’t have to worry about rushing. Plus if something comes up and you are unable to work on it one night you will not get behind!
    • My last piece of advice is to put your phone away while you are studying and working on homework! Your phone is the biggest distraction and when you just put it in your backpack and ignore it and you will be a lot more productive!
  • Finding time to study:
    • Sometimes it can be hard to balance everything you are doing and finding time to sit down and study can be rare but it is very necessary! I have found that when I schedule chunks of my day to just study I am so much more productive! I put my phone on silent and just get to work! My favorite times to study are during my lunch break (yes I know this can be hard if you want to socialize with friends but I have found it so helpful!) When I get my work done during the day I am much more motivated and I have a lot less to do in the evening! I try to finish all my other work directly after my last class before going home (I am currently taking classes at a local college instead of my high school) because there are a lot less distractions! If you are easily distracted when you work from home it is always helpful to go to your school’s campus, a coffee shop, or even the Library!

Thank you so much for reading today! I hope these tips help you! As always if you have any post requests please let me know!
